We study how tissues maintain spatial organization and lose resilience with age.

Tissues are dynamical systems whose behavior emerges from interactions among cells, the extracellular matrix, and their environment. By integrating spatial genomics, perturbation experiments, mechanistic models, and machine learning, we uncover the rules of cell circuit assembly that underlie tissue organization and build predictive models of how tissues adapt, remodel, and fail.
